The Maine Agriculture in the
Classroom Council was very recently established by the Maine Legislature
(LD
1070) in order to strengthen the mission of the Maine
Agriculture in the Classroom Association, which is the group that made
the agriculture specialty license plate a reality. Simply put, it
is because of the success of the Association and its popular agriculture
license plate that the Council was established. More information
about the council will be forthcoming, as its members--with an abundance
of public input--determine how to best achieve the overarching goal of
advancing and improving agricultural education for not only Maine's children,
but also for anyone involved in the education of those children.
