Maple syrup making demonstrations all day.  Samples of maple syrup on ice cream.  Pancake breakfast available from 9-2.

Maple syrup, maple cotton candy, maple candy, and maple coated nuts as well as other maple treats for sale.

Farm tour includes miniature horses, beef cattle, peacocks, pheasants, and ostrich.  Also see buckets and tubing collecting sap.

Saturday, the band Us will be performing at 10 a.m., Sunday the Old Time String Band will play at 11 a.m.  There will be tours of the sugarhouse, free homemade ice cream with maple syrup.  Available for purcahse: maple cotton candy, maple popcorn, and maple nuts and more.  Also the 8th Annual Maple Cooking Contest will be going on.

Directions: from the rotary of routes 202 and 302 take 302 towards Portland for 1 mile.  Turn left onto Nash Rd, we are one mile on the right.

Somerset County:

 

Linwood Acres:  Ethan, Emilee and Ashton Robertson invite you to maple weekend in Canaan.  We have a small sugarhouse with a wood fired evaporator.  We have about 200 taps.  Ethan is the third generation Robertson to make maple syrup.  We will be open Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  We will have syrup for sale and sample, as well as maple soda!  Call about hours at other times – we boil when we have sap!

From the North:  Take exit 157 in Newport, follow Rte. 2 towards Skowhegan.  In Canaan, turn left on Rte. 23, just before the Canaan One Stop.  The Moores Mill Rd. is on your right, about 2 miles from Rte 2 – we are at the end of the road.

 

From the South:  Take exit 133, Rte 201 North towards Skowhegan.  Turn right onto Rte 23 right after Caverly’s Country Store.  Travel about 5 miles, the Moores Mill Rd. is on your left, we are at the end of the road.
