Back to Full Index May 20, 2010 Meat Quality Assurance WorkshopDee Potter, University of Maine Cooperative Extension Livestock Specialist, will be holding an Introduction to Meat Quality Assurance Workshop on Friday, May 21st from 10 am to noon. The workshop will be held in the conference room above the Livestock Office on the Windsor Fairgrounds as part of the Northeast Livestock Expo. Topics to be covered will include an intro to meat quality assurance, vaccine and drug practices, livestock feeds and the feed supply, the impact of management practices on carcass quality, animal care, handling and facilities, transportation, biosecurity, animal identification and records. It is designed to be an introduction to the components of a livestock meat quality assurance program based on the long established beef quality assurance program.
